Integrated Science Center
Science has been a key component in the education of a Vassar student ever since Matthew Vassar hired Maria Mitchell as the College’s very first faculty member. But up until now, despite the superb quality of science teaching at the College, Vassar’s facilities have not reflected or supported the unprecedented interdisciplinary nature of scientific study in the 21st century.
To address this need, Ennead Architects has worked closely with Vassar on a daring, environmentally conscious design for a new Integrated Science Center. A new building will literally bridge the College’s south campus with a revitalized Olmsted Hall of the Biological Sciences, while the nearby New England and Sanders Physics buildings will undergo renovation.
Construction of Vassar’s Integrated Science Center is now under way. Check this website for more information, and for updates as they occur.
